Ferro Silicon
Silicon is present in most steels up to around 0.35% for the deoxidation process. However, higher additions between 1% and 2% are used in production of spring steels. Transformer cores also utilise higher levels of silicon in conjunction with low carbon levels to provide specific hysterises properties.
As the UK distributor for FESIL, a full range of sizes and grades is offered. These are based on 75% Silicon content and include standard as well as high purity specifications which have Aluminium levels at 0.1% max.
